The Season Got Longer This Year

In 2025, the village ran eight of these gatherings, closing with Fall Fest in late September and a single additional pop-up in October.
For 2026, the village's own event page makes no attempt to undersell the change. It promises "double the amount of fun this year including a new event, Bayside Oktoberfest." The math holds up. Between the regular beer garden dates, a car show night at Village Hall, Fall Fest, a brand-new two-day Oktoberfest weekend, and a Pop-Up Pumpkin Party, Bayside's 2026 event lineup runs to roughly thirteen separate dates, nearly double what residents saw the year before.
That's not just a scheduling footnote. The single leftover October date that used to close out the year has been replaced by a full weekend with its own name and its own beer style. A village of a few thousand residents built almost its entire public gathering life around one park and one brewery partnership, and this year it decided that one extra date in the fall wasn't enough. It added a second act.

Regent Road, starting at 2 p.m. This is the big one: a village picnic built around Usinger's sausages, the Torzala beer garden, a petting zoo, pony rides, Touch-A-Truck, live music, and Movie on the Hill at Mount Bayside starting around 7:15 p.m. The same afternoon hosts the Bayside Five and Wine, a 5K run and 2-mile Wine Walk that starts at 4 p.m. and marks its 35th year of running in Wisconsin in 2026.
- October 10 and 11 – The inaugural Bayside Oktoberfest, 1 to 6 p.m. each day at Ellsworth Park. This is new for 2026 and represents the village's first dedicated fall celebration built around German beer garden tradition rather than the general-purpose summer format.
- October 25 – The Pop-Up Pumpkin Party, 1 to 5 p.m., closing out the season back at Ellsworth Park.
Worth knowing if you're planning around it: the beer garden series and Fall Fest split between two locations, Ellsworth Park at 600 E. Ellsworth Lane for the regular Saturday gatherings and Village Hall for the bigger single-day events. The local health department samples the water weekly from late May through the first week of September, which means the testing window that's been running most of the summer has only a few weeks left. Anyone still making beach trips down that trail should plan on the season closing in early September, just ahead of Labor Day.
There's also a piece of Bayside history that connects to Fall Fest in a way most people miss. The stone Lion Gates on Lake Drive, designated Milwaukee County Landmarks, mark the entrance to what was once Fairy Chasm, a two-mile network of picnic paths and ravine trails developed at the turn of the century by Jake Donges and Fred Usinger. The Usinger lion still bears the inscription marking the family's stretch of what was then called Donges Bay. That's the same Usinger name that shows up on the sausage table at Fall Fest every September, more than a century after the family first shaped this stretch of the North Shore into a place people walked for recreation rather than just passed through. The gates are still maintained by the village today and remain an easy stop for anyone walking or biking along Lake Drive.

None of this changes what Bayside is. It's still a lakefront village of roughly 4,400 residents where the biggest public decision most years is whether to add another Saturday to the beer garden lineup.
